From toilet rolls to towering trees: Wells kids wow with nativity art

By Guest 16th Dec 2024

Schools and nurseries from across the Wells area have created incredible exhibits on the theme of 'Nativity' for the annual Christmas Eco Arts Exhibition at The Bishop's Palace in Wells.

Over 500 children, with some help from their dedicated teachers, created exhibits that include Jesus in the manger, a suspended double-sided nativity scene, a Christmas tree made from over 150 toilet roll tubes, a nativity panel over 7ft tall and a Christmas tree with ornaments that show characters from the nativity.

Prizes were awarded for the cutest; the biggest; the best interpretation of the theme and the display most children took part in.

Siobhan Goodwin, Community Engagement Manager at The Bishop's Palace, says "The Bishop's Palace would like to thank all of the children and nursery/school staff who worked so hard on their exhibits."

The exhibition will be on display in the Palace's Conference Room until the end of December, to complement the festive decorated Palace rooms and stunning outdoor garden illuminations.
