A new independent deli is poised to debut on Wells High Street, taking over the premises at 52 High Street, previously occupied by Superbook and then Tile Cakery.

The Fig Tree Deli recently announced its arrival with a sign in the window.

Online, they describe themselves as an "Independent deli serving up homemade food and local products including cheeses, charcuteries, wines and more."

It marks a new chapter for the property, which has seen various occupants over the years.

As yet, an opening date has not yet been announced, but the new deli is expected to complement the existing range of shopping and dining options in Wells
