Earthcraft in Wells is set to close for the last time this weekend.

A well-known gift shop in Wells is closing next week after 45 years of trading.

Earthcraft, on Priory Road, will shut its doors for the final time on Saturday, February 8, as its owner, Julie Romeo, retires.

The shop, which has been a fixture in Wells since the late 1970s, stocked an eclectic mix of craft materials, aromatherapy oils, henna hair dye, jewellery, gifts, and greeting cards.

Julie, 79, announced her retirement last summer, launching a closing-down sale with 20 per cent off everything. Now, with just days left, she has thanked customers for their support over the years.

Instead of flowers, Julie has asked that those wishing to mark the occasion donate to Tree Aid, a charity close to her heart.

Earthcraft's final day of trading will be Saturday, February 8.
