Laugh away the January blues - comedy night in Wells is back

Wells' popular comedy night returns this month with a cracking line-up and a guest MC.

Local funny man Dan Hershbein, who's long suffering parents reside in West Pennard, will host the night.

He regularly comperes open mic night Jokewalk at the Ropewalk in Bristol, and is a familiar face on the South West circuit.

Founder of Silly Sausage Comedy, and regular MC Heather Bryson-Banks, will open the gig with a bizarre mixture of cabaret, spoken word and stand-up, described by some as "brilliantly shocking and deeply funny".

"I like to push the boundaries, and play with what makes people laugh," she said.

Headlining the night is Kris Davies - a stand up comedian from Bridgend, South Wales, a story teller who offers a traditional stand up style laced with musical musings.

Taking inspiration from his wayward adolescence right though to daily struggle with the adult world, Kris offers a unique but relatable take on the world around him.

As seen on BBC Sesh, he is a Bath Comedy Festival best newcomer semi finalist in 2018 and Stand Up for Cider grand finalist last year.

Support on the night comes from Ali Hancock, Capriella Hooper and Greg Winfield. As usual there will be a raffle for charity (Mind UK), and security sausage on the door. Hot chips are available from the bar during the break.

Arrive from 7.30pm for a show start time of 8pm on Saturday January 11, at The Venue, South Street, Wells. Tickets £10 from ethertickets.com.
