Say a fond farewell to The Greek Taverna in Wells – the much-loved local spot is closing its doors.
Say a fond farewell to The Greek Taverna in Wells – the much-loved local spot is closing its doors.

It's almost time to raise a final glass of ouzo – The Greek Taverna at The Sun in Wells will be closing its doors for the last time on 31 March, after more than a decade of serving up traditional Greek cuisine in the heart of the city.

Olga and the team have confirmed that the much-loved restaurant will shut at the end of the month, bringing 11 and a half years of moussaka, meze, and memorable meals to a close.

In a heartfelt message shared with customers, the team thanked the local community for their support over the years, and extended an invitation to anyone who'd like to dine with them one last time before they say farewell.

The Taverna will be open for dinner and takeaway Tuesday to Saturday from 5:30pm for the final two weeks of March, with lunch on Saturdays and breakfast on Wednesdays and Fridays. A special Mother's Day lunch will be served on Sunday, 30 March.

The final service – and a chance to say goodbye properly – will take place on Monday, 31 March, with dinner, takeaway, and a farewell drink.
