The Bishop's Palace in Wells offers a rich Easter program from 5 to 21 April, featuring trails, crafts, a falconry day, and more.

Families in Wells are being promised a jam-packed Easter at The Bishop's Palace, with two weeks of trails, crafts and nature-themed fun on offer during the school holidays.

From 5 to 21 April, visitors can pick up an Easter Family Trail from the Ticket Office and explore the palace's 14 acres of gardens, which will be teeming with spring wildlife. Children who complete the trail can collect a small prize as a reward for their efforts.

The palace and gardens will be open daily from 9.30am to 5.30pm over the Easter break, with free access to the popular Dragon's Lair play area – a magical outdoor space where kids can let off steam.

There's also a full programme of special events planned:

  • On Thursday 10 April, drop-in craft sessions will run from 11am to 3pm. Children can make Easter Bunny masks and get stuck into some relaxed colouring.
  • On Saturday 12 April, the Medieval Falconry Day returns, featuring live birds of prey in flight at 12pm and 3pm.
  • Thursday 17 April sees the return of the Nature Ninjas, with sunflower seed sowing between 11am and 3pm.
  • Then on Saturday 19 April, Jeff Loader – aka The Time Travelling Carpenter – will be inviting families to try their hand at a medieval lawn game that's said to be the forerunner of table billiards.

Children can also collect stamps in their Palace Passport throughout the year, with prizes up for grabs for those who complete it.

All Easter events are included with standard admission. Tickets can be bought online via The Bishop's Palace website.
