For the first time since the late 1980s, the original cinema doors of Studio24 in Wells have reopened, allowing local music fans to step through the same entrance once used by filmgoers at The Regal.

The venue, which started as The Regal cinema before becoming the Kudos nightclub, and is now a popular live music venue, has revived its original entrance, adding a nostalgic touch to the building's events.

Manager Luke Gardiner recently reintroduced the historic doors for an ABBA tribute night and a high-energy Dub Pistols show, both drawing enthusiastic crowds and sparking a flurry of online excitement.

"The idea was to bring back a piece of history," Luke explained. "There's something really special about entering through those old cinema doors, it just feels right for this building. When people walk in, they can see the old character and charm that's part of this place—it's a different experience than using the side entrance. I wanted to make it special for everyone who comes here."

Luke added, "The response has been fantastic. Guests love it, and it's great to see the community reconnect with this old entrance—it's like bringing a bit of Wells' past back to life."

With plans to keep the historic doors open for future events, Luke aims to keep blending Studio24's rich heritage with its current role as a modern music venue. The reintroduction of the cinema entrance offers guests a unique experience that ties into Wells' local history while supporting the town's live music scene.
