Wells neighbourhood officers, backed up by response teams, carried out a stop and search this week after receiving intelligence from town centre businesses about suspected drug dealing in the city.

The male suspect was found in possession of several wraps of cannabis and has been taken to the police station for a formal interview and Criminal Justice Intervention.

The team praised members of the public for coming forward, saying their reports "led to a positive result in getting drugs off the streets."
