Two separate approvals have been given for the redevelopment of the Three Wells pub, involving holiday lets, a café, a shop and additional lodges for accommodation

Planning applications concerning the derelict Three Wells pub between Glastonbury and Wells have received approval from the county council.

The main pub building is set to be converted into two holiday lets, and a café and shop are also planned. A separate application for the development of adjacent land for additional holiday lodges on the pub garden and car park has also been approved.

Both applications were submitted on behalf of new owners Mr Abu Taher and Mr Mubin Ahmed.

The main building will be converted into two holiday lets, one with two bedrooms and the other with four. Both units will feature at least one ground-floor accessible bedroom. A replacement for the existing rear conservatory is also included in the plans, allowing direct garden access for both units.

The lodges are expected to look like this one

An additional approved application allows for the stationing of five lodges on land to the south of the main building, providing further holiday accommodation.

The café and shop will be located at the south end of the building and are intended to serve both the holiday lets and the general public. In terms of external appearance, little will change when viewed from the road, although refurbishment is planned.

The plans include parking provisions for 10 cars for the café and shop, two additional spaces for staff and deliveries, and two disabled spaces.

The planning permissions indicate a change in use for the property, which has been vacant for some years. The Three Wells pub will become a mixed-use facility, including holiday accommodation and retail spaces.
