Godney Gathering to leave Garslade Farm in 2027

The Godney Gathering will move from Garslade Farm in 2027, organisers have announced. The independent festival, held near Glastonbury, said the decision had been made after it became increasingly difficult to make the event financially sustainable.

The announcement came after this year's festival weekend, with organisers thanking visitors, crew and the team at Garslade Farm for their support. They said a new location would be announced "over the coming months".

The Godney Gathering began in the village of Godney 15 years ago as a single-stage, one-day event. It later moved to Garslade Farm, where it grew into the two-day festival held this weekend.

In a statement, organisers said: "It's no secret that the festival industry isn't easy. Like so many independent events, we do this for the love of live music and the incredible community that makes the Gathering so special.

"In recent years however, it has become increasingly difficult to make the festival financially sustainable. After a great deal of thought, we have made the difficult decision to move The Godney Gathering for 2027."

Organisers said they would "forever be thankful" to the village of Godney and to Garslade Farm, which hosted the festival for 12 years. They added that the move was being made at a time when many independent festivals had been forced to close.

They said: "At a time when so many independent festivals have sadly had to close their gates, we're making this change to secure the future of The Godney Gathering.

"We'll be announcing the new location over the coming months, and we can't wait to share what's next with you."

The festival also confirmed that an early bird presale for next year's event will go live at 6 pm on Monday, 20 July. The 24-hour sale is being offered as a thank-you to supporters of the event.

Organisers thanked Bridget and Will, and everyone at Garslade Farm, for their support over the years. They said the farm had been "a wonderful home for Godney" and that they were proud of the memories created there.
