Wells Theatre Festival, scheduled for the 6th and 9th of July 2023, has an exciting array of children's performances lined up to offer the young and the young an enthralling, fun-filled time.

  • On Thursday, 6th July, the Wells Museum will host the puppet show "The Sand Dragon" at 10.00 am and 1.30 pm. The interactive tale narrates the story of Edie and her father who stumble upon a magical pebble on their beach holiday. It is a riveting spectacle of songs, music, changing scenery, magic tricks, and an array of puppets. A bonus is a hands-on puppet-making workshop after the performance, which guarantees to keep your children engaged and entertained.
  • On Friday, 7th July at 1.30 pm and Saturday, 8th July at 11.00 am, the Cathedral Green will be the stage for the much-anticipated "The Pirate Taxi Show." This outdoor aerial circus show, courtesy of the award-winning makers of "Flown" and "Home," promises original live music, humour, and extraordinary aerial performance.
  • Saturday, 8th July at 2:30 pm, The Bishop's Palace will host "The Grimm Sisters." This entertaining and slightly gory narrative is performed by Scratchworks Theatre Company, whose unique blend of comedy, singing, and live music has earned them rave reviews.
  • Thursday, 6th July at 6.00 pm and Friday, 7th July at 11.00 am, Cedars Hall presents the play "And Then They Came For Me," a poignant piece about the Holocaust, featuring the story of Anne Frank and the lives of survivors Eva Schloss and Ed Silverberg.
  • The Bishop's Palace will be the venue for a rendition of Shakespeare's "As You Like It" on Friday, 7th and Saturday, 8th July at 7.00 pm, and Sunday, 9th July at 2.30pm. This timeless classic will surely enthral audiences.
  • The opera, Don Giovanni, will be performed at Cedars Hall on Thursday, 6th and Friday, 7th July at 8.00 pm. This popular piece by Mozart is presented in a fresh and exciting direction by Opera in a Box.
  • "I Found My Horn," the hit one-man show, will be performed on Friday, 7th, and Saturday, 8th July at 6.00 pm at Cedars Hall. This feel-good show is about a man seeking redemption through the transformative power of music.
  • On Sunday, 9th July at 11.30 am, Cedars Hall is set to present the zany and fun-filled performance, "A Real Fiction." Loaded with current affairs, childhood nostalgia, and a dash of slapstick comedy, this show is guaranteed to make everyone's day a memorable one.
