Wells locals are in for a treat tomorrow (Wednesday, 15th May), as Strangers with Coffee partners with Riverside Cleaning Contractors and UK Home Tint for a special community event.

The initiative, which promises a free slice of cake to every customer purchasing a drink at the café, aims to spread a simple message of kindness.

Riverside's owners, Ryan Church and Rachel Hodges, were inspired to support the local coffee shop after a meaningful encounter on Christmas Day.

"We met the owner while out walking on Christmas Day. He opened his doors to those who would have spent the day alone, asking only for donations to charity, not charging for his services," said Ryan. Motivated by this generous spirit, they have been eager to collaborate with the coffee shop ever since.

"Independent businesses like these are truly the heart of our city, and supporting them is vital," Ryan added.

The couple hopes that this gesture will not only treat locals but also encourage ongoing support for small businesses in Wells.

The event is set to start early in the day and will continue while supplies last. It's first come, first serve, so make sure to visit early and enjoy a cake on Ryan and Rach with your drink, no strings attached—just a reminder to be kind.
