Wells is gearing up for an eventful weekend, offering various activities catering to various interests and ages. From creative workshops to intriguing talks, the city is buzzing with excitement and opportunities to learn, enjoy, and engage.

The fun begins with the Light Up Wells Lantern Making Workshop at The Portway Annexe, Portway Building, Portway Avenue on the 14th January.

This workshop is perfect for those who love to get crafty and creative in time for the Light up Wells event. Each workshop costs £5, with morning sessions from 10am to 1pm and the afternoon session between 1pm and 4pm.

On 13th January, the Wells Blue Sports Centre on Kennion Road hosts a free performing arts display from 09:45 to 13:00. This is a fantastic chance for aspiring performers to explore different facets of the arts.

For those with a flair for needlework, the Saturday Stitch Club meets on the same day, from 10:00 to 15:00, at The Portway Annexe. It's a great opportunity to share skills and ideas with fellow enthusiasts.

Fashion aficionados won't want to miss "The Mayor's New Clothes - The Exclusive Catwalk Preview" at the Town Hall, Market Place, from 19:00 to 22:30. Whether you're looking for a fresh new look or simply seeking inspiration, this event is perfect for anyone interested in beauty and fashion. Be prepared to be amazed!

Simultaneously, the Wells & Mendip Museum, 8 Cathedral Green, hosts two events. The Wells & Mendip Astronomers AGM at 19:00 offers a fascinating talk titled 'Heavy Metal...', while the WMA AGM & Monthly Talk by Chris Starr, also focusing on 'Heavy Metal...', starts at 19:30.

Rebecca Caine's performance, "Dividing Day", at Cedars Hall, The Liberty, from 19:30 to 21:30, is a must for music lovers. Her show promises an enchanting evening of vocal talent.

Finally, Wells Film Centre has extended their £5 cinema ticket offer until the end of March, and are hosting a range of films for movie buffs this weekend.
