Daniel's Cafe and Sandwich Bar on Queen Street has become the first independent business in Wells to join the new Too Good To Go app.

Joining the many businesses across the country, Daniel's Cafe is the latest to do its bit to help combat food waste.

It has already been a success at chain supermarket Morrisons, but owner Georgie Robbins felt it was important to get the local independents involved too.

She said: "We can't just rely on the chains to do their bit for the environment, we all have to take part and do what we can.

"We at Daniel's Cafe are proud of our efforts within the community and will continue to find ways to make a contribution."

You download the app from Too Good to Go, businesses will list how many bags of food they have to purchase, you choose how many, then go and collect it.

For the business it means they are limiting their food wastage as well. Each bag may have different items in it, the buyer won't know until it is collected. Food waste in this instance is defined as edible food.
