Crandon Springs Care Home in Wells, Somerset, is inviting local people living with dementia and those who care for them to join residents for a `Disco Down Memory Lane` on Friday 22 May at 2.30pm.

The dementia-friendly disco will provide a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where residents and guests can socialise and connect through music and shared memories. Entertainment will be provided by local favourite Jan McNeill, performing hits from the 60s and 70s to get everyone dancing. Refreshment will also be available throughout the afternoon.

The event takes place during national Dementia Action Week, which aims to raise awareness and encourage greater understanding and support for people affected by dementia.

Crandon Springs can accommodate up to 64 residents, including 32 people in its dedicated Memory Lane Community. The home is part of Barchester Healthcare, which is committed to helping people living with dementia lead fulfilling and meaningful lives with support tailored to their individual needs.

Crandon Springs General Manager, Darius Ivana, commented: "Previous dementia-friendly parties at Crandon Springs have been a huge success. Our residents love music, dancing, and the opportunity to socialise, so we're delighted to open this event to the wider community.

"We hope families, friends and local groups will join us for what promises to be a fun, supportive and inclusive afternoon. Events like these are an important part of our commitment to supporting people affected by dementia and helping families feel connected. If you can't attend on the day, but would like to visit the home for a chat, our doors are always open, and there's always homemade cake available in our café!"

Anyone wishing to attend the disco is asked to contact the home in advance to book a place. Phone 01749 685180 or email [email protected].

on Friday 22 May at 2.30pm (booking required).
