Coxley Primary School fundraising for new playground equipment

A fundraising campaign has been launched to help Coxley Primary School replace its long-lost playground equipment, which was removed in 2022 after being deemed unsafe.
The Friends of Coxley School, led by parent and chairwoman Lauren Clarke, is aiming to raise £13,500 to install new equipment, giving pupils a much-needed outdoor play space once again.
Lauren explained that when her daughter first started at the school in 2021, the playground featured a much-loved climbing frame that pupils would spend hours enjoying. However, due to its age, the structure had to be removed the following year, leaving a gap in the school's outdoor facilities.
Although replacing the equipment has been on the group's wish list for some time, financial challenges following the COVID-19 pandemic meant other priorities took precedence. However, with the Friends of Coxley School now a team of 14 dedicated parents, they have made it their mission to bring a new play area to life.
Their first fundraiser, a 'Coin Challenge', raised an impressive £1,817, but with a £15,000 goal, they are now calling on the wider community to help.
Lauren said: "Coxley Primary is a small village school, so we're reaching out beyond our immediate community for support. Every pound helps, and together we can achieve something big for the children."
The Friends of Coxley School regularly fundraise to subsidise the cost of school trips, swimming lessons, and classroom supplies, but this campaign is their biggest goal yet.
Anyone wishing to donate can do so via the JustGiving page, helping to bring back a safe and exciting play space for the children of Coxley Primary School.
