Council launches online learning tool for Mendip food businesses

The Mendip Business Hub, in collaboration with workplace learning experts, Learning Pool Ltd, have launched a new online service to support food businesses wanting to develop and comply with food safety standards.

Catering and hospitality firms and anyone responsible for preparing food, can purchase digital courses covering a range of topics, including allergies, food safety, nutrition and hazard awareness.

There are 11 courses to choose from which can be purchased individually or in discount bundles. Prices start from £25.

Cllr Heather Shearer, Portfolio Holder for Community Health & Services, said: "It's important that Mendip businesses have access to up to date, on-demand educational resources to develop their food safety knowledge, while continuing to deliver high quality hospitality for their customers.

"The Council is keen to support local businesses and we hope they will make use of this innovative digital platform."

Learning Pool is part of the Mendip Business Hub, a Council service that works with businesses across the district to provide expert advice, guidance and support. It's a one-stop-shop for information, networking opportunities, consultancy, and events.
