The City of Wells Almshouses, off Priest Row, will be opening on Saturday September 21 for Heritage Open Day.

This is a chance to see the medieval almshouses with stunning gardens, a working chapel and the original Guild Hall of the city.

Home baked refreshments served all day and live music from a ukulele band will take place between 2pm and 3pm.

Stewards will be on site to assist visitors and self-guide leaflets will be available. They will be open from 11am until 4pm and no booking is required.

There are three steps into the Llewellyns site, with some uneven paths. Pushchairs could be used but in some places this may be difficult. Toilets available but they are not wheelchair accessible.

A walk around both sets of almshouses takes about one hour and the Bubwith Almshouses have a beautiful Secret Garden and a courtyard garden.
