Abbeyfield House on New Street, Wells welcomed two special visitors for lunch. Pictured together with the residents are the Mayor and Mayoress of Wells together with the charity's chairperson Margaret Wilson and House Manager Paula Fletcher.  

"Today we were delighted to welcome Mayor Louis Agabani and Mayoress Mary-Ellen Nowell to lunch at Abbeyfield," said Margaret.

"Abbeyfield House is a small community with space for nine residents where we provide the best of both worlds. We offer our residents independent living with a little extra support when required.  

"Each unit has facilities so that residents can prepare their own breakfast, Abbeyfield housekeepers cook lunch and dinner which is eaten together so that residents can feel part of a small community.  

"Our cooks prepare delicious home cooked meals daily which are prepared with care and with the residents in mind. We like to think of the house as an oasis which is calm, friendly, full of fresh flowers and peaceful. Why not pay us a visit?"
