A NEW couple have taken over the running of Strangers With Coffee in St Cuthbert Street, Wells.

Tom Lowe and Jerry Naish succeed Ivan and Susan Hewitt, who have retired after six years at the coffee shop.

"We are proud to be part of the evolution of the Wells institution that is Strangers With Coffee," said Jerry.

"Both of us love speciality coffee and beautifully made, simple food so we are delighted to be able to take the reins of this wonderful business.

"We thank Ivan and Susan for their support and mentorship, and wish them all the best in their retirement.

"We look forward to welcoming friends old and new, so that where there is great coffee there are no strangers."

During their time in charge, Ivan and Susan turned Strangers With Coffee into the city's highest rated coffee shop on Trip Advisor.

"We're proud of our achievement," said Ivan.

"We've had a fabulous time here and we're going to miss it greatly. The people of Wells have been magnificent."
