The investigation into a large cannabis factory discovered in Wells is still underway.

Police raided the property on April 10 after a tip-off from members of the public and found over 200 cannabis plants and extensive related equipment in a property in Wells High Street.

The property had been transformed into a suspected cannabis factory with every room lined with insulation and foil, and equipment including lighting, heaters and fans were also discovered.

PC Dan Williams, a member of the Wells Neighbourhood Team, described it as the largest and most significant cannabis plantation he has encountered during his 24-year tenure in the police force.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Simon Lancey said the team "will continue to conduct enquiries to find the individuals responsible and hold them to account."

Sgt Lancey has urged anyone with further information about the factory or those responsible for coming forward and assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Anyone who may have information is asked to call 101 or contact the Wells Neighbourhood Team, quoting reference 5223082651.
