The familiar petrol station on Chamberlain Street has a new lease of life as its store officially reopens as an Asda Express, following a comprehensive rebranding that was completed on the 7th of November.

This transition is a part of the supermarket chain's wider move to solidify its stance in the convenience market sector.

Local shoppers who have frequented the petrol station store will now be greeted with Asda's signature green branding and a refreshed product range of up to 3,000 items.

This includes a variety of daily essentials, quick meal solutions, and a selection of products for those spur-of-the-moment needs – all reflecting Asda's commitment to quality and value.

This rebranding comes on the heels of Asda's strategic acquisition of EG Group's UK business, which has set the stage for a nationwide transformation of petrol station stores into the Asda Express format. The Wells Asda Express store joins this initial wave of transformations, offering a more comprehensive shopping experience under the trusted name of Asda.

"We look forward to bringing Asda's great value in fuel and groceries to many more communities across the UK," said Andy Perry, MD of Convenience at Asda
