A new adventure for Eady
A family in Cranmore is fundraising to raise money for an off-road mountain buggy for their daughter Eady.
Eady is 12 years old and has Rett Syndrome. She requires 24/7 care from her mum Charly, dad Matt and little brother Mitch.
When you are caring for a child with disabilities as profound as Eady's things are always changing! As well as the short term changes in health, sleep, mood, eating, behaviours, there are more long term changes due to the fact that children are always growing. At Eady's age, her body shape and size are changing and this affects her posture and the position that she is happy to sit in.
A growing and changing Eady means that her current off-road buggy is too small and needs to be replaced. The problem is a normal buggy isn't suitable for Eady. She needs a specially designed buggy to allow her to get out and about in nature – something which is vital not only to Eady but to her family. And this comes at a high price.
The family have done a trial with an amazing buggy called the Mountain Trike. It offers comfort to Eady with three shock absorbers and has an ease of use for her carers. Eady loved her trial of this buggy and her family are now fundraising to secure a buggy of her own. The joy of this particular buggy is that it will last her indefinitely as it can grow and adapt as she grows. A battery pack can be added when she get bigger too.
The family have set up a Go Fund Me page to help raise money for this specialised buggy: https://www.gofundme.com/f/news-wheels-and-adventure-for-eady
