The Wells City Women's Football team kicks off a day of Sport and Engineering at the East Somerset Railway in celebration of International Women's Day on Saturday 8th March.

Women of all ages are invited to come along and meet the team at 10.45am as they officially open the first day of public steam railway services of 2025 at the Cranmore site. Following a 'kick about' with the team, attendees are welcome to join a tour of the workshops to have a go at a number of engineering activities including lathe work, grinding, welding and metal fabrication. This is a great opportunity for young women interested in careers in engineering as well as anyone who just wishes to try these exciting activities.

The ESR is open to the public at weekends from 8th March, additionally Wednesdays from beginning of May.

The Station Cafe is open Wednesdays to Sundays from 26th February.
