Wells Cathedral Chorister Trust is delighted to announce a forthcoming concert to be performed in the beautiful Chapel of the Bishop's Palace in Wells in support of the Trust.

Songs of Creation is directed by Jeremy Martin and is sung by the Cantiamo choir. The centrepiece of the concert is the powerful 'In The Beginning 'by the American composer Aaron Copland. Based on the seven days of the Genesis creation story, it paints a musical picture of each in a dialogue between the soprano soloist, Josephine Goddard, and the choir.

The concert also features other evocative pieces themed around the seven days of the creation story including works by De Victoria, Dove, Ešenvalds, MacMillan, Whitacre, Ticheli, Gjeilo, Stanford, Rheinberger and Mealorand.

After the concert guests are invited to enjoy a drinks reception in the Palace and Gardens.

All proceeds go directly to the charity, helping in its aim to ensure that talented children from all backgrounds have the opportunity to access the unique musical education and experience offered at Wells Cathedral as a Chorister.
