Suzanne LLewellyn has been facilitating Rhythm Harmony Drum Circles for many years and the Palace is fortunate to be hosting her Rhythm & Drumming Workshop. Many different instruments (bells, shakers, drums, etc) will be available for visitors of all abilities to try their hand at. No prior experience is needed, all you need to bring with you is a load of enthusiasm. Many participants initially claim to have no rhythm but after some guidance from Suzanne, all are jamming away with the best of them! 

The session will begin with Suzanne providing a few snippets of information on the instruments and their history. This will be followed by activities designed to find the group's rhythm. Next, these patterns will be weaved together to create something super magical. If there's time, the session will close with a freestyle jam where drummers can show off what they've learned.   

These workshops will take place in the Palace's poustinia. Its 9-foot-high walls will provide the perfect environment for visitor's drumming to reverberate. Please arrive at The Bishop's Palace Ticket Office at least 15 minutes before the workshops is due to start. Here, you will be directed into the outer gardens to meet Suzanne and your fellow drummers.

The workshop will be approximately 1.5 hours long and your ticket includes day entry to The Palace and Gardens (opening times 9.30am-5.30pm)
