The extreme, the unknown, the unseen

Black holes are fascinating and enigmatic. In this talk, Wells and Mendip Astronomers' member Gary Amos will describe the revolution in our understanding of these bizarre objects, from the first theoretical predictions to the latest gravitational wave observations and the strange history in between.
