Wells Food Festival

The eagerly anticipated Wells Food Festival is back, providing another day of free foodie adventures for the whole family.

Set in the medieval heart of Wells, the festival is set to be a jam-packed celebration of Somerset's artisan producers and rich food culture. With close to 200 producers in this year's Artisan Market, for the first-time stalls will extend into the High Street.

Stands selling creative, culinary delights will stretch from the High Street, into the Market Place and the Town Hall, along the Palace Moat and into the Recreation Ground. Visitors will find food from around the world, from traditional sausage rolls to street style Mexican tacos, washed down with a range of drinks from kombucha to locally distilled gin.

Popular feature areas include Food for Thought, an area dedicated to highlighting current, food related social issues and how communities can tackle the challenges. The festival's headline sponsor, Charlie Bigham's, will be on the Palace Green, celebrating the launch of Charlie's first cookbook at the Wells Food Festival, Supper with Charlie Bigham. The Celebrating English Wine marquee makes a welcome return, and for younger festival visitors, the Children's Zone will feature innovative street food stalls for smaller appetites and host four free cookery workshops to make Apple Cinnamon Swirls with the Fun Kitchen pop-up cookery school.
