Ekleido - Splice/Rorschach dance double bill

Join professional dance company Ekleido for a breathtaking double bill dance performance incorporating voguing, bonebreaking and threading club/street dance styles and featuring original music by world-renowned electronic musician FloatingPoints.

Ekleido usually perform in major dance venues but were selected and funded by the Rural Touring Dance Initiative and Arts Council England to adapt their show for a national rural venue tour in 2026. Let's Buy The Amulet were delighted to have hosted Ekleido last October for a week-long residency here in Shepton Mallet as part of those preparations, and to now be hosting the full performances on their national tour.

Opening the programme is Ekleido's critically acclaimed Splice in which two dancers find the balance between limitation and possibility to solve a physical puzzle.

Completing the bill is Rorschach, a trio that reimagines the iconic Rorschach inkblot test. In this work, you encounter a future society where individuals are subjected to a mandatory Rorschach trial—a journey of self-revelation and survival where participants confront psychological endurance, moral compass, and physical limitations.

About Let's Buy The Amulet

Welcome to our campaign to acquire and reopen the Amulet Theatre as a multi-purpose community venue in Shepton Mallet.

Designed in the bold brutalist style of the 1970s, the Amulet uses a unique moving floor to ingeniously transform from a 270 seat theatre to a 400 capacity dance hall, whilst being perfectly nestled right in the heart of Shepton Mallet town centre.

Originally built in 1975 as The Centre, the building was a gift to the town from the Showering Family. It operated as a popular venue and community centre for many years but has been in private ownership and largely out of public use since 2011.

Now the community has come together and formed a charitable community benefit society with a growing 300+ supporters who have subscribed for community shares in a bid to acquire and return the building to full community use. This exciting opportunity has the potential to transform the centre of the town and regenerate our high street. Find out more about this amazing building and our exciting plans on https://buytheamulet.org.uk/ and subscribe to our newsletter here.
