Discover a Hidden Kitchen Garden in the Mendip Hills
Come and spend a splendid day at Asterion & Co.'s in collaboration with Pennard Plants free Kitchen Garden Open Day on Sunday 22nd November 2026, from 10am to 4pm.
Set within the grounds of The Old Vicarage in Leigh-on-Mendip, Pennard Plants' Kitchen Show Garden offers a rare opportunity to explore a fully realised working kitchen garden.
Wander through open beds, glasshouse, polytunnel, orchard and ornamental borders filled with heritage fruit, vegetables, herbs and edible ornamentals. Every plant is clearly labelled, offering plenty of inspiration and practical ideas for your own garden.
Expert advice will be available from Pennard Plants' leading horticulturalist Chris Smith, with expert heritage seed guidance from Mike Milligan.
During your visit, enjoy:
• Scheduled gardening talks, tours and opportunities to ask questions
• An extensive collection of heritage and heirloom seeds, alongside selected modern varieties
• Labelled edible plants, fruit trees, fruit bushes and herbs available to purchase

PARKING AND ACCESSIBILITY
There is no on-site parking. Please park considerately in the village, within a short walk of The Old Vicarage.
The historic garden includes uneven paths, terraces and steps, but a step-free route is available. Please contact Asterion & Co. beforehand if you have accessibility or mobility requirements.
