Contemporary Meets Medieval

An exhibition of innovative and intriguing art is coming to Wells this summer with the Wells Art Contemporary (WAC) exhibition at Wells Cathedral.

This exhibition provides a unique opportunity to see some of the world's finest contemporary art set within the magnificent medieval surrounds of the Cathedral.

A dedicated gallery of 123 selected works of art will be on display in the Cathedral cloisters, showcasing an array of disciplines and mediums across painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, mixed media and sculpture.

In addition, there are 29 site-specific installations studded throughout the Cathedral and its grounds. These have been chosen for their responses to the architectural, spatial and spiritual aspects of this unique venue.

The exhibition is free to enter. All artworks are for sale. A virtual exhibition is also running for anyone unable to attend in person.
