Harry Foster scored a spectacular goal for Wells City, before being sent off towards the end of the game, as the match against Portishead Town ended 1-1.
Portishead also had a player sent off and a draw is the fairest result although on chances created Wells will rue not taking all three points.

Weston Super Mare 2nds 33 – Wells 26.
This was a match that Wells probably thought that they could win and on reflection, felt that they should have won.

Wells 7 – Minehead Barbarians 5.
This was a real nail biter to start the new year, as Wells held on against high flying Minehead to record a narrow two-point victory on a pitch that can only be described as "soft, heavy in places".

Harry Foster got the only goal of the game, as Ross Padfield also starred for Wells City, as they defeated Bishop Sutton 1-0 on Boxing Day.
In the first minute of the match, good build up play down the Wells left saw the ball find Craig Herrod in the box but his snap shot went narrowly wide.
Lots of effort, three tries, but in the end Wells came back from Bath pointless although this was a spirited performance by a much changed team which contained three Crooks - William, Jordan and Charles.
After defending for ten minutes, or so Wells broke out and another penalty from Will Greenman put them into the lead by a point. A few minutes later, Wells supporters dared to hope as Ben and Al Knight combined to cover seventy metres for the latter to score. From then on it was a bit of doom and gloom as the light faded. The lights came on, but they seemed to inspire the home team who went over for three more tries, two coming from catch and drives at lineouts.

A dominant display from Wells City on Saturday saw them thump Bristol Telephones 5-1 away from home and, in truth, the scoreline could have been more.
Wells took the lead in the first minutes when Harry Foster did well to control a long ball, and with his second touch he fed Harvey Hadrill who, from the half way line, drove forward and slotted the ball into the far right corner from 18 yards.

Wells City were held to a 1-1 draw against Welton Rovers at the weekend, which was disappointing given the amount of chances they created.
The first chance came on 10 minutes when a defence-splitting throughball by Dale Hunt released Harvey Hadrill who cuts the ball back to Harry Foster but his shot was brilliantly saved.

Wells 26 – Hornets 19
A strange sort of game, Wells had a completely dominant scrum, a more than competent lineout, but strangely they seemed to lack possession, especially in the first period.
