Lots of effort, three tries, but in the end Wells came back from Bath pointless although this was a spirited performance by a much changed team which contained three Crooks - William, Jordan and Charles.

After defending for ten minutes, or so Wells broke out and another penalty from Will Greenman put them into the lead by a point. A few minutes later, Wells supporters dared to hope as Ben and Al Knight combined to cover seventy metres for the latter to score. From then on it was a bit of doom and gloom as the light faded. The lights came on, but they seemed to inspire the home team who went over for three more tries, two coming from catch and drives at lineouts.

A dominant display from Wells City on Saturday saw them thump Bristol Telephones 5-1 away from home and, in truth, the scoreline could have been more.

Wells took the lead in the first minutes when Harry Foster did well to control a long ball, and with his second touch he fed Harvey Hadrill who, from the half way line, drove forward and slotted the ball into the far right corner from 18 yards.
