Wells City were in seventh heaven on Saturday (January 18) after defeating Lebeq 7-1 away from home, aided by the home side having three players sent off.
The action started on 13 minutes when a Craig Herrod corner was well met by Charlie Crook but the ball hit the side netting.
On 20 minutes a quick counter attack from Lebeq after a Wells free kick saw their Number 6 go one on one with Harley Wilkinson who produced a brilliant save to deny him.
After 29 minutes a great throughball from Tom Hill found Herrod in the box and with a deft touch the Lebeq defender was tempted into a challenge and conceded a penalty.
From the resulting penalty, Hill stepped up and dispatched the ball into the far bottom corner to give Wells the lead.
On 32 minutes there was another great save by Wilkinson as the ball dropped to Lebeq's Number 9 from a corner and his snapshot from eight yards was brilliantly held.
After 35 minutes there was a straight red card for Lebeq after a over zealous two footed challenge in the middle of the park.
Wells doubled their advantage on 38 minutes when a corner from Herrod was headed down by Harvey Hadrill at the back post and Alex Camm was quickest to react as he scoresd from close range with a tidy finish.
On 41 minutes Camm, with a searching 50 yard pass, looked to have released Hadrill but the Lebeq keeper came out of his area and blatantly handled the ball, and received a straight red card, leaving Lebeq down to nine men.
However, after 45 minutes Lebeq hit back after a stunning break down left wing and a fine cross which found their Number 9 who placed the ball into the far corner. Half time Wells City 2-1 Lebeq.
On 63 minutes another brilliant save from Wilkinson one on one with Lebeq's Number 9 as his superb low save kept Wells ahead.
Another red card for Lebeq came on 65 minutes, this time Number 9 was initially sin binned for dissent but as he made his way off the field he aimed another comment at the referee who then had no choice but to send him off. Lebeq now down to eight men.
After 67 minutes a pull back from Camm found Crook who curled an effort towards the bottom corner but it was well saved.
On 68 minutes a mazy run from Herrod saw him ghost behind the Lebeq defence before firing an effort that the keeper did well to parry for a corner.
Wells increased their lead on 71 minutes when, after some Herrod magic down the flank, he pulled the ball back to Camm who calmly slotted the ball into the far bottom corner to grab his second of the game.
Just three minutes later, great work from Hill down right fed Camm who crossed for Crook and he made no mistake with a powerful header into the far left hand corner of the goal. Wells 4-1 Lebeq.
It was five almost immediately when another great ball from Hill once again fed Camm who this time found Herrod. Still with some work to do, Herrod turned his man inside out before unleashing a shot into the bottom right corner from 12 yards.
On 81 minutes Hill fed substitute Jamie Brown down the right and his pinpoint cut back picked out Hadrill who fired the ball back across the keeper to give Wells a 6-1 lead.
After 84 minutes there was icing on the cake for Wells as Camm completed his hat trick with the goal of the game as he cut in from the left and let fly with a dipping 25-yard rocket that arrowed into the top corner. Full time Wells City 7-1 Lebeq.
This was a game that at the beginning looked as though it could go anyway, but once Wells learnt how to break down a stubborn Lebeq side who fought valiantly, the floodgates opened for the final 20 minutes.
Overall a professional performance from Wells in strange circumstances but a win that moves them up to third.
Man of the match was awarded to Harley Wilkinson who produced some outstanding saves at crucial moments in the game.
Next up Wells are at home tomorrow (Tuesday January 21) to league leaders Longwell Green.
