Location: Old Bristol Road, Upper Milton, Wells.

The Fire Service were called to a report of a road traffic collision at the above location. Both fire appliances from Wells and the rescue tender from Glastonbury were mobilised to this incident.

The crew got to work extinguishing the fire with the use of 1 hose reel jet. Once all vehicles were made safe this incident was handed over to the police and the crew returned home station.

THE organisers of Wells Theatre Festival are looking for volunteers to help run the event.

In return for their support, volunteers can attend performances for free and be in with a good chance of meeting many of the performers, including internationally acclaimed mind reader Colin Cloud, who will be bringing his sell out show to the festival.

Free concerts at new festival

WELLS will be welcoming several international youth ensembles to perform a number of free concerts around the city at the inaugural WOWFest: Wells Orchestral Weekend in July.

The festival will open with a ceremony at the Cathedral.

It will include a short introduction from patron Charles Hazlewood and a joint performance of the March from Arthur Bliss's orchestral suite Things to Come.

The music tells the story of Bliss's vision of the lead up to the Second World War, and the performance will feature some of the finest young musicians from the UK and Germany perform together in harmony.
