A school that takes pupils from Wells is "a haven" for students according to government inspectors Ofsted who found it to be good across all measures in their latest report.
Ofsted inspected Tor School, in Glastonbury, for students who are excluded, at risk of exclusion or have medical needs in January and praised efforts to improve standards and work in partnership with all Mendip schools, including those in Wells.

Friday night will be live jazz and blues night at the Full Moon in Southover, Wells, from now on.
The events, commissioned by landlord Kevin Graham, will feature duos and trios playing in the bar.

All schools in Wells will have advisory 20mph speed limits in force outside them by 2022, according to Somerset County Council.
Council leader David Fothergill has committed to providing £1.5 million over the next 12 months to ensuring such limits could be put in place for half of the county's schools – including academies and private schools.

The Liberty in Wells is closed this week during the daytime so the planned resurfacing works can take place.
The scheme involves removal of the old road surface, repairs to the kerbs and drainage system, followed by full carriageway resurfacing.
