History's worst husband is back — and he's brought his wardrobe.

The Bishop's Palace in Wells is stepping into the spotlight this September with a brand new exhibition: The Costumes of Wolf Hall. And yes, that includes the coat worn by Damian Lewis as Henry VIII.

On loan from the BAFTA- and Oscar-winning Angels Costume Company, the exhibition features original outfits from the series — including gowns worn by Kate Phillips (Jane Seymour), Lilit Lesser (Lady Mary), and Summer Richards (Catherine Howard).

Visitors will also get a behind-the-scenes look at how Wells became a backdrop for Tudor drama. The Cathedral stood in for the Palace of Whitehall — including scenes of Henry VIII's marriage to Jane Seymour — while The Bishop's Palace and its gardens brought the medieval atmosphere to life.

The Cathedral's historic library and surrounding grounds also made an appearance, cementing Wells as a key filming location for both Wolf Hall and its sequel The Mirror and the Light.

The exhibition will be located in the Palace's Conference Room, accessible via stairs or lift. It's included with all standard admission — day tickets, joint tickets, annual passes and memberships.

Running throughout September, it's a rare chance to walk the same halls and gardens that doubled as Tudor court — and get up close with the drama that made it to the screen.

Tickets are available now, from the Bishop's Palace website.
