Wells police have launched an appeal for witnesses following an assault on a man in his 20s outside the Cheddar Valley Inn on Tucker Street.

The incident, which took place around 10pm on Saturday, 27 May, saw the victim struck in the face with a bottle.

The victim sustained several injuries, including cuts to his chin and lip and damage to his teeth. He was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged and is recovering at home.

Authorities are searching for a suspect believed to be involved in the incident. The man is described as white, approximately 6ft tall, and of muscular build. He is said to have short blonde hair, blue eyes, and a distinctive owl tattoo on his neck.

As investigations continue, local police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have relevant information to come forward. They are asked to call 101 and quote reference 5223098096.
