If you're looking for things to do in Wells this weekend, there's plenty on offer! From football tournaments to classical music performances, there's something for everyone.

If you're interested in education, Wells Cathedral School is hosting an Open Morning on May 13th. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the Head Master, tour the school, and get to know the staff and pupils. It's the perfect chance to see why so many people find Wells Cathedral School such a special place!

For sports enthusiasts, the Wells City Football Club Football Tournament will be held on the weekend of May 13th and 14th. The tournament will be held at Wells City and includes age groups from U7s to U8s. Medals will be awarded for all participants, so it's a great opportunity to get involved and support your local team.

If you're interested in classical music, check out String Superstar: Guy Johnston with Will Vann at Cedars Hall on May 12th. Guy Johnston is one of the most exciting and versatile British cellists of his generation, and his programme with pianist Will Vann includes sonatas by Mendelssohn and Fauré plus Schumann's virtuosic Adagio and Allegro.

Art enthusiasts won't want to miss the "Visions of Nature" exhibition at the Bishops Palace, which runs until May 30th. The exhibition features screenprints, etchings, and oil paintings by Louise Boulton and Richard Gibson, celebrating the vitality and beauty of nature.

For a musical performance with a difference, head to the Wells & Mendip Museum on May 14th to see Destino, a duo that fuses flamenco, pop, and classical music. Ben Bruant and Will Cashel formed the duo in 2011 while studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and their music is regularly featured on Scala Radio, BBC Radio 2, and the My Wardrobe Malfunction podcast.

And don't forget to check out classic cars on the Cathedral Green as the Mendip Tour 2023 arrives on May 15th at around 2.30pm.

With so much going on in Wells this May, there's no excuse not to get out and enjoy everything the city offers.
