Shhh! Silent Disco in progress!

There's something for everyone in Wells over the weekend, from music and brunch to educational pop-ups.

The weekend festivities kick-off with a whisper on Friday, 21st July at Cedars Hall's Silent Disco. This one-of-a-kind musical event starts in the evening, offering participants the choice to tune into one of three different channels, each delivering a different musical era. Whether it's the groovy tunes of the 70s and 80s, or the upbeat anthems from the 90s and 00s, there's a rhythm for every attendee. This inaugural event promises an evening filled with good vibes and bad dance moves.

On Sunday, 23rd July, starting at 10:30 a.m. for an hour, the community spirit of Wells shines at the Sunday Brunch at Christ Church, Coxley. This regular monthly gathering is a chance to enjoy food, engage in an optional quiz, listen to a talk, and participate in craft activities for children. The event warmly welcomes new faces and families, fostering a strong sense of community.

Live music continues to play a pivotal role on Saturday, 22nd July. Starting at 9:00 p.m., the Tracks Band returns to Tramways for the first time in 2023, promising a night filled with high-energy tunes and dancing.

Also on Saturday, 22nd July, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the serene ambiance of Wells Cathedral provides the backdrop for a concert by Matt Walters, known as Reductio. Renowned for his fusion of classical and contemporary music, Reductio will present a unique concert featuring compositions ranging from Bach to Hans Zimmer and The Weekend.

Adding to the weekend's variety are several pop-up events. The Glastonbury Male Voice Choir will perform at Bishop's Palace & Gardens at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. On Sunday, starting at 10:00 a.m., a Pop-up Vintage Clothing Shop opens its doors at Strangers with Coffee.

On the educational front, Wells Cathedral is hosting a Pop-up Astronomers event at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, offering a safe view of the sun. Rounding off the weekend's events, the Bon Jovi tribute band From Jovi will rock the night away at the White Hart in Wells, starting at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Wells ' vibrant weekend offerings cater to a myriad of interests from music aficionados to food enthusiasts, budding astronomers, or those simply wishing to engage with the local community.
