Wells voters to elect Police and Crime Commissioner today

Residents of Wells are set to vote in the elections for the Police and Crime Commissioner of the Avon and Somerset area today.

You will have one vote, and can choose from four candidates.

Polling stations will open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on and Voters can find their designated polling station details on the poll card received or by visiting the website: Where Do I Vote.

People planning to vote in person at a polling station must bring photo ID. Acceptable ID includes:

  • Passport
  • Driving licence (including provisional license)
  • Blue badge
  • Certain concessionary travel cards
  • Identity card with PASS mark (Proof of Age Standards Scheme)
  • Biometric Immigration document
  • Defence identity card
  • Certain national identity cards

Postal voters should send their ballots promptly via Royal Mail due to recent changes in postal vote processing.

The vote count will take place overnight from 2-3 May, with results to be announced on Somerset Council's website.
