Wells Community Network (WCN) volunteers are set to play a pivotal role in the Spring Covid Vaccination Programme at St Thomas Church Hall.

Starting from Friday, 26th April, the hall will host the first of several vaccination clinics, scheduled to run from 9am to 5pm. The clinics are being supported by Locking Pharmacy, which will provide the vaccinators for the event.

Additional clinics will continue at the church on the consecutive Fridays of 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 31st May, during the same operating hours.

These sessions are particularly important as they target specific segments of the community. The NHS has announced that these booster jabs will be available exclusively to individuals over 75 years of age by 30th June 2024, those between 6 months and 74 years with weakened immune systems, and residents in care homes for older adults.

Appointments can be booked through local health centres, directly via care homes, or online. The NHS has provided a convenient link for online booking: Book or manage a COVID-19 vaccination appointment - NHS. While walk-ins are welcome, availability cannot be guaranteed, and booking is advised to ensure a spot.
