Santa hats and Christmas tunes will take over Wells next month as the city's annual Santa Fun Run returns on Sunday, 7 December.
The family-friendly event kicks off from 10.30am in Wells Market Place, with festive stalls, music, mistletoe and Christmas trees – plus a grotto for Santa at The Crown pub. The day is run by Wells Rotary and raises money for Winston's Wish, a charity helping grieving children.
Entrants can walk or run either a 5km or 2.5km course, with reindeer to spot along the route. Everyone gets a free Santa hat, and runners are encouraged to dress up as Father Christmas or elves. Entry costs £5 for adults and £2 for under-11s, with registration open on the day or in advance via the Wells Rotary website.
Organisers say the event is one of the highlights of the city's Christmas calendar. "Rotary feel sure that Santa would approve," they said in a statement.
