There will be four sets of temporary traffic lights in the centre of Wells this week.

On Wednesday and Thursday January 22 and 23, Truespeed will be using multi-way traffic lights from the Connect Centre junction to the Tucker Street crossroads, where it meets St Cuthbert Street and Princes Road, so it can check ducts and clear any blockages.

Then from Friday January 24 to January 30, the company will be doing similar work under multi-way traffic lights along Princes Road.

While that work is going on, Western Power Distribution will have multi-way temporary traffic lights from Wednesday to February 4 at the junction of Priory Road and Southover, to enable it to install a new supply and substation.

However, the company's temporary traffic lights for similar work in Silver Street are scheduled to be removed by Thursday.

Other roadworks in Wells this week include:

From Tuesday January 21 to Thursday, Truespeed will be clearing a blockage under the A39 Glastonbury Road.

From Monday January 20 to February 16, wall repairs will be taking place in North Road.

Bristol Water will be repairing a leak in Spring Rise from Monday to Wednesday, and it will be doing similar work in Keward Close on Wednesday.

From Friday to February 3, Western Power Distribution will be working in Woodbury Close.

Bristol Water's works to repair leaks in Tuddington Gardens and Balch Road should be completed by Monday.

Finally, the work by Bristol Water to fit a new connection in Beryl Lane should also be finished by Monday.
