Wells motorcycle club donates thousands to air ambulance

A Wells motorcycle club has given £3,800 to Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
It is a most worthy cause said Chris Weeks, chairman of Wells Classic Motorcycle Club at their 19th Annual General Meeting, presentations and social evening in the city's Britannia Inn.
At the end of the meeting members were joined by the Deputy Mayor of Wells, Philip Welch and his wife Caroline, marshals and helpers from the ninth annual Tortoise and Hare Run to present Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance with £3,800, their latest donation.
"This large donation was made possible by the massive support that we again received from our sponsors, brochure advertisers and entrants, along with much work by many club members for which we say a big thank you," said Chris.
Donations from these annual events to the Air Ambulance have now reached £24,600.
"The event regularly attracts entrants from various parts of the country to come and ride with us in some of our outstanding countryside on motorcycles and scooters of all ages," said Chris.
Next year will be the event's tenth anniversary on Sunday, June 7.
