Wells church to offer free summer lunches

Wells United Church will offer free lunches during the school summer holidays, with sessions taking place at Seager Hall.

The scheme, which was also run during the February half-term holidays earlier this year, is open to anyone who wants to attend. Visitors will be able to have a healthy, freshly prepared meal, with children's activities also provided.

Specialist family advice and support will also be available if needed.

The free lunches will run on Thursday, 24 July, Thursday, 31 July, Thursday, 7 August, Thursday, 14 August, Thursday, 21 August and Thursday, 28 August.

Each session will start at noon and finish at 2 pm.

Revd Stephen Hawkins, minister of Wells United Church, said: "With no other agenda than to simply be a blessing in our city, the message is 'there really is such thing as a free lunch!'"
