Wells carnival illuminates the city with a spectacular parade of lights and colour

Wells streets were bustling with excitement as the city hosted its spectacular annual carnival on Friday, 18th November.

The event saw a fantastic turnout with thousands of spectators.

The procession featured over 80 entries from carnival clubs, elaborate carts, and individual participants, all adding to the vibrant atmosphere as they paraded through the town.

Notably, the Wells carnival is one of the final celebrations in the circuit, with only Glastonbury's event to follow.

In a display of creativity and spectacle, Ramblers CC clinched the top spot for the best feature cart (open) with their 'Trawlermen' Marketers CC followed closely, securing second place with their Dames'' cart.

For the open tableau category, Huckyduck CC impressed the judges and spectators alike, earning first prize with their '25th December' presentation.

Carnival enthusiasts have one more opportunity to witness the magic of this year's event as it moves to Glastonbury today for its grand finale.
