Thousands lined the streets of Wells to see the carnival last night (Friday 18th November) to watch the spectacular event make a triumphant return to the streets following the Covid19 pandemic.

Over 80 carnival clubs, carts, and individuals took part in the procession as it made its way through the town.

The carnival is one of the last on the circuit, followed only by Glastonbury.

Results

Gremlins CC won the best feature cart (open) with Feast of Fools, with their jester and clown inspired entry, Masqueraders CC came second with their Masquerade cart.

Huckyduck CC took the first prize home for their open tableau When Movies were Movies.

There's just one night left to catch this year's carnival - it heads to Glastonbury today for the final show.
