Crandon Springs Care Home in Wells will hold an open day on Saturday, 25 April, with tours, advice, support and refreshments for visitors.

A Wells care home is opening its doors to the community later this month.

Crandon Springs Care Home, in Wells, will hold an open day on Saturday, 25 April, from 10 am to 4 pm, giving visitors the chance to meet staff, tour the home and gardens, and find out more about the support on offer.

The event is aimed at people looking for information about residential or dementia care, whether for themselves or a loved one.

Visitors will be able to speak to the team, ask questions and enjoy homemade cakes in the café. People are encouraged to call ahead, though walk-ins are also welcome on the day.

Crandon Springs is run by Barchester Healthcare and provides residential and dementia care for up to 64 residents, including respite care and longer-term stays.

Home manager Darius Ivana said the open day would give families a chance to have important conversations in a more relaxed setting.

He said: "We're looking forward to welcoming new visitors and existing friends to our open day.

"Finding residential care or dementia care for yourself or your loved ones can be a little daunting, but our team at Crandon Springs will do all we can to provide our guests with the guidance and support they need, and answer all their questions, big or small.

The open day runs from 10 am until 4 pm on Saturday, 25 April.
