Do you love Wells? Could you spare a few hours a week?

If so, then the Wells Ambassadors would love to hear from you.

The initiative, launched in April 2021 by Ross Young, sees volunteers meeting and greeting visitors to the city, sharing their knowledge and giving advice on all the wonderful things that Wells has to offer.

And now more Ambassadors are needed.

Ross said: "The Ambassadors have done a great job in meeting and greeting visitors to this beautiful city. The feedback from them and locals has been very positive.

"We aim for each Ambassador to do a maximum of two and a half hours a week, either morning or afternoon, Monday to Saturday – 10am-12.30pm, 12.30-3pm, (Sundays noon-2pm) – giving advice, pointing out all there is to see in Wells and handing out maps and leaflets where appropriate.

"Because of holidays and other commitments, it can be difficult to cover all the shifts and the more Ambassadors we have the easier it becomes – we need you!

"Training will be given, also notes about interesting features in Wells, and support from an experienced Ambassador."

To find out more about becoming a Wells Ambassador you can call Ross on 01749 671874 or 07721 523487, or you can email him at [email protected].
