Tucker Street in Wells will be closed to all traffic for four days next month while Bristol Water carries out essential maintenance to replace a water service.

The closure will affect the stretch of road from the junction with West Street, heading east for approximately 57 metres.

The works are due to begin on Monday 2 June and are scheduled to be completed by Thursday 5 June 2025. The road will be closed 24 hours a day during this period.

Somerset Council has issued the closure under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. While the order itself takes effect from 29 May and is valid for up to 18 months, the works are only expected to last for four days.

A diversion route will be signposted locally and motorists are being advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for journeys through the area during the closure.
